They even followed us on the scooter with 2 umbrellas when it started raining and we were taking a walk to a high point. Had delicious food, laughed, did karaoke, and enjoyed the beautiful lake. Beautiful location with fantastic views. Breakfast is definitely the best we’ve had so far here in Indonesia, with a lot of choices. We rented bikes for a day and had a wonderful ride. Frans gave us a clear and good route. You can’t be dropped off directly at the hotel by boat (like some hotels in TukTuk), but that’s not a problem because they pick you up, which is really great! The hospitality of the owners Frans and Jojor, as well as the entire team, is outstanding. The location is beautiful by the lake. The food is good; we enjoyed a hearty breakfast every day. Additionally, we received excellent assistance with renting a scooter, laundry service, and transportation to and from the ferry. In the end, we stayed for a total of 4 nights. From the beginning, Frans and Jojor, the owners of Hotel Barbara were so friendly and helpful we felt right at home. We could relax and swim in the lake, paddle board, kayak, rent scooters, or get a wonderful massage by the shore with the gentle breeze coming off the lake. We had a wonderful time, staying here over the christmas time. The food was awsome and we could easily hire a motorbike for cheap money to explore the island. Especially the owners and the other staff were super friedly and gave us tips were to go and to visit and always helped us with information and transport to and from ferry. What a beautiful location with a warm welcome from Frans and Jojor. Because they both speak Dutch, we could have nice conversations with each other. They helped us with the necessary information about the area and renting a scooter. They also picked us up from the boat, even though we ended up at a different location. Very helpfull hosts and staff, nice place with great food (lots of veggies). Great hot shower, comfortable beds. The owner picked us up from the harbour, helped us with getting away tot Singkil and gave tips for hiking en cycling. We could use the canoe, sup and bicycles. We stayed some extra days.
When we were there the restaurant was being renovated. But the staff and hosts made sure we got great meals served at the lakeside or at our balcony.
